PFund awards its grants based on decisions made by a review panel
composed of PFund board members and community members. Panel members come
from the Twin Cities and PFund's service area and represent the diversity of GLBT communities.
Application Deadline:
In 2008 PFund Foundation will change its grant application process
>> PFund will now require letters of inquiry
>>Letters of inquiry must be post-marked by August 1
>> PFund will notify selected organizations by August 15 that they may submit full proposals
>> For organizations selected, full proposals must be post-marked by September 15
Grant Amounts:
$2,000 to $5,000, maximum $10,000
Average $3,500
Geography: PFund makes annual grants in Iowa,
Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. See map of grantee partners over the years.
Review Process: PFund awards grants based
on decisions made by a community review panel.
The review process is determined by the PFund board of directors and implemented by the vice presidient of grants and programming and PFund staff. All applications are read by grant panelists. The group convenes for a one-day
session to discuss applications and share opinions. At the end of panel deliberations the most suitable
grant applicants are selected by consensu. PFund’s Board of Directors receives a full report of the proceedings and awards.
Decisions are finalized each year by December 1.

Preventing discrimination and ending violence and harassment against GLBT persons
Community celebrations to increase understanding
Advocacy, education and work aimed at achieving social, systemic and institutional change for GLBT people
Reducing isolation and promoting visibility that will lead to full equality for GLBT people
Organizations or programs serving targeted populations within GLBT communities
